Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025

1. Information We Collect

When you use Proof, we collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account (email address, display name, username), upload practice videos, and interact with other users. We also collect usage data such as session timestamps and feature interactions to improve the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Proof
  • Process your practice videos and generate AI highlights
  • Enable social features such as following, liking, and commenting
  • Process payments via Stripe for Proof Pro subscriptions
  • Send you notifications about activity on your account
  • Respond to your comments and questions
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents and enforce our Terms of Service

3. Video Content and AI Processing

Videos you record are stored securely using Cloudflare R2 object storage. Videos are submitted to Google Gemini solely to detect highlight moments within your sessions. We configure this processing to limit data retention by the AI provider consistent with Google's API data-use policies; however, you should be aware that submitted content may be processed on Google's infrastructure subject to their terms. We do not use your video content to train our own models, and we do not sell or disclose your video content to third parties except as described in this policy.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We engage third-party service providers to process data on our behalf under contractual arrangements:

  • Supabase — authentication and database
  • Cloudflare — storage and content delivery
  • Google — AI highlight processing
  • Stripe — payment processing

These providers access your information only as necessary to perform services for us and are contractually required to protect it in a manner consistent with this policy.

Profile information and practice sessions you choose to make public are visible to other users. Content you keep private is not shared with other users.

5. International Data Transfers

Proof is operated from the United States. Our service providers may store and process your data in the United States or other countries. By using Proof, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to legitimize these transfers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time; we will remove your personal information and videos from our active systems within 30 days. However, certain data may be retained longer where required by law or legitimate business necessity, including:

  • Billing and payment records (as required by financial regulations)
  • Fraud-prevention and security logs
  • Backup copies (purged on our regular backup-rotation schedule)
  • Information needed to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure credential storage, and access-controlled object storage with short-lived signed URLs. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. Please notify us promptly at maxpoff12@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These may include the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to retention obligations above)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your information
  • Opt out of certain disclosures of your information (California residents)
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (EEA/UK residents)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at maxpoff12@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

Proof is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Proof after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
